Final Classroom block 3 Aryamet Uganda
Although our club has not contributed directly to this project we have helped facilitate the international transfer of funding and are pleased to see the great progress being made.


International Dinner: To support the work of the International Team the club will be holding another fundraising dinner at the Elephant in Pangbourne. More details here>

Berkshire Vision, a local charity our club has helped in the past, is looking for helpers with various activities as described in the email below.
  • Monday 5th February Riverside 4km Walk through Caversham. Starting at 12.30pm - help guide members on the walk and socialise with them in the pub afterwards.
  • Friday 9th February Dancing at The Space Hub in Woodley meeting for 1:45pm – Be partnered up with the members and follow the guidance from the instructor. Afterwards we normally head to Costa for some food and drink.
  • Thursday 15th February Rock Climbing at the Dolphin Centre in Pangbourne 5-6:30pm - Help guide members around the building and provide guidance from the instructor.
  • Monday 19th February West Berkshire Social Group: Basildon Park at 12pm – help guide members around the park and socialise with them over lunch.
  • Tuesday 20th February Wokingham Socialeyes 1:30-4:30pm at Woosehill Community Hall – help with hot drinks, food and support the entertainment.
  • Wednesday 21st February Mid Berkshire Social Group Snowdrop at Welford Park – time to be confirmed. Help guide members around the park and socialise with them over lunch.
  • Thursday 22nd February Mid Berkshire Pub Quiz at The Three Tuns 7:30-10pm – help answer and write down the quiz questions.
  • Friday 23rd February Blind Football 5-6pm at Reading Madejski Stadium – help guide members and provide instructions on where the ball is.
  • Wednesday 28th February Dual Sensory Loss Social Group Milestones Museum 1-3:30pm – help guide members around the museum and help them interact with others.
  • Thursday 29th February Bracknell Socialeyes 1:30-4:30pm at Priestwood Community Centre – help with hot drinks, food and support the entertainment.

Celebration of Volunteering: Reading University's Celebration of Volunteering event returns on Thursday 25 April 2024, bringing together colleagues, students, alumni and community partners to award, showcase and celebrate those who have gone above and beyond to volunteer on campus or in their local community. Nominations for the Celebration of Volunteering are now open until Friday 1 March at midnight.
